About the speaker

Prof. Alfred Bernard, UCL

After a bioengineering diploma, with a focus on pollution, environment and land use planning, Alfred Bernard began training as a researcher in industrial and environmental toxicology.


He did a Masters in medical sciences and a Doctorate in toxicology and pharmacology, all at the Catholic University of Louvain where he is a professor in the toxicology and applied pharmacology laboratory, as well as FNRS research director.


Since 1990, sometimes in collaboration with researchers abroad, across Europe, but also in the USA, Canada, Morocco, Australia, China, he has carried out numerous epidemiological studies to assess, among other things, the various toxic risks of the products around us. He is the co-author of a hundred publications.
